The sun is shining over the tops of the buildings creating a blanket of warmth for the City. It’s a new day with new possibilities while the children run up the street to school and the people emerge from the buildings off to jobs. All around the world people experience autumn, but nobody experiences autumn like New York.
What makes this City different from any other? It is the energy that is composed by people walking, by the presence of taxis and buses and the incredible landscape that makes up New York City. Streets are not lined with grass, but they do have the sporadic trees that juxtapose the concrete jungle with a piece of nature that forms a haven for the people who live here.
The crisp air blows through the streets stirring up the smells from the deli on the corner with the garbage on the street. While waiting at an intersection, the sun wraps it’s rays around you giving you a brief moment of relaxation before the light turns and you are off to your destination once again. Everyone knows these days are numbered, that is why they are embraced and cherished.
Each year everyone anticipates October, I just hope that everyone can experience it here in New York City at least once.
